Don’t be afraid to pop a bit of eyeshadow underneath your eye, keep it close to the lash line and blend it out softly. Firstly, it will make your eyes look bigger, and secondly, you can actually see it. A lot of eyeshadow is lost as soon as you open your eyes, especially if you have hooded eyes.

Pro Tip: If you are wise and mature like moi, stick to matte shadows and leave the shimmer shadows to the young ones. Shimmer/glitter products draw attention to an area and can accentuate fine lines.

I’ve used the Mecca Max Single Shadow in the shade “Space Jam” to compliment Lila’s beautiful hazel eyes.

I got my hands on the new @makeupbymario Neutrals Eyeshadow Palette to create this beautiful halo eyeshadow look for Sunni. Halo eyeshadow is a makeup technique where you apply a lighter shade of eyeshadow in the center of your eyelid, surrounded by a darker shade on the inner and outer corners. This creates a bright, highlighted effect in the middle of your eyelid, resembling a halo.

This is the first time this gorgeous young lady has modeled for me and she smashed it. I’m so appreciative of all the girls (and that one boy) that come and model for me. Something a little different for NFMUA – Male makeup! I recently completed a tutorial on male grooming so I could have an understanding of how it differs from female makeup. “Undetectable” is what we are aiming for, square edges as opposed to round, strong jawlines, tidy brows & facial hair with matte lips, to name just a few.

This gorgeous girl has been in my chair too many times to count now, and I’m not mad about it. This look was inspired by the “Blue Steel” look in Rae Morris’ “Makeup Masterclass” book. I used shades of rust, purple and pink to create this stunning smokey eye.
