Jodie & Tommy

I travelled down to the stunning Bellinger Valley for Jodie and Tommy’s September wedding. Jodie opted for a beautiful soft natural look for her bridal makeup. Bronzed and dewy skin with lightly contoured eye makeup. The simplicity of the makeup really suited Jodie’s overall bridal look.

At your bridal trial I will often ask a lot of questions about your wedding day, in particular the general look and vibe you are hoping to create for your special day. This gives me an idea of what direction to take your makeup in. There are so many versions of “natural makeup” and the more information I have about your day the more I can tailor a makeup look that is perfectly suited.

Stacey & Shawn

Stacey and Shawn’s beautiful country wedding kicked off my Spring Wedding season last August. Stacey chose to get ready at a beautiful little bnb in Swan Creek. We have some great bnb’s in the Clarence Valley, if you are planning your wedding and looking for a place to get ready, feel free to send me a message and I can let you know of some great places to stay.

Rae Morris has been a huge influence on my makeup career. She is an incredible educator, she has a way of explaining why we do what we do, that really makes sense to me. Although I have a creative mind, my brain works in quite an analytical way. I need to know how things work, to be able to understand them and therefore apply them. If I can understand in depth what we are trying to achieve with every brush stroke, I can then apply it to any face type. Rather than a generic look for every face. I use a lot of Rae’s techniques and methods in my work because they really make sense to me.

Flashback to circa? #tadpoleeyebrowera where I was helping Rae at the Sydney Beauty Expo. Just stylin around in my “dressy hoodie” like I just rolled out of a Netflix marathon. Rae took a group of us out to dinner that night, some fancy restaurant in Darling Harbour, I was probably still wearing my favourite hoodie. I took a phone call right when the waiter was bringing out all the dishes and missed the bit where he said “don’t eat the green ones”. I ate the green ones and immediately wondered why no one told me to not eat the green ones? Clearly my face was saying what my mouth was unable to, and as I started to sweat blood I looked over at Rae and she was gesturing to the waiter “can you get her a glass of milk please…” I felt like a 3 year old that couldn’t cut up her own sausage. I’d like to point out that tomato sauce is too spicy for me, so you can understand my panic when I just inhaled one of the world’s spiciest chillies. My situation only got worse as that little green chilli decided to burn a hole in every single one of my internal organs. Death by chilli.

Thank you @raemorrismakeup for always sharing your experience, wisdom and milk.

It’s me, hi! So many new followers since the last time I introduced myself. I would love to tell you a little about my creative journey that has led me to become a Professional Makeup Artist. When I finished school I studied Graphic Design with aspirations of working in the magazine industry, in particular, fashion and beauty. I wanted to have a thorough understanding of all aspects of the industry, and therefore undertook extra study in Photography and Makeup Artistry. After a stint as a Freelance Graphic Artist I did what every other 20 something was doing with their tertiary education – packed my bags and moved to London #goodtimes. When I returned home I felt a passion for Makeup Artistry and enrolled in various masterclasses and courses to further my skills which allowed me to work as a makeup artist alongside my full time work. Five years ago the opportunity presented itself for me to pursue a full time career in makeup artistry and led me along a creative path that I genuinely love and enjoy.

I’m a creative soul. I’ve dabbled in a lot of aspects of creative arts over the years – illustration, painting, typography and signwriting, millinery, photography, design, sewing, arts and crafts. It’s a passion, and I’m extremely grateful that I have been able to turn my creative passion into a career.

Elizabeth & Dean

Elizabeth and Dean’s country wedding wrapped up my weddings for Autumn 2023. The Valley is known for its warm summers, but it can also get very cold in the winter months. I remember pulling up to Elizabeths accommodation on the morning of her wedding and it was a balmy 1 degree outside. As you’ll be able to see from the photos, it turned out to be a beautiful day!
