The Worst Part of Being a Makeup Artist

I was recently asked “what is the worst part about being a Makeup Artist?” For me, the hardest part would be the fact that no matter how unwell you are, you still have to show up to work. You can’t call in sick, there are no sick days, and there is not another staff member that can take your place. I can work through pretty much anything, and have done plenty of times in the past – I hold integrity, reliability and work ethic very high on my list – I would literally have to be on death’s door to not show up to your wedding. But I am also human. I try very hard to keep myself well, but when I am booked solid it may only take one client to pass on a virus (I am literally in your face), and I could be wiped out for next week’s Wedding – imagine if it was yours!

So please, if you are unwell, let me know. This gives me the opportunity to put measures in place so that I can stay well for next week’s Bride.

Thanks for all your ongoing support x
